Take the Island Highway and turn onto Highway 18. When you near Lake Cowichan the highway splits off - stay to the left. You will be on South Shore Road. Drive through Lake Cowichan, Mesachi Lake and Honeymoon Bay. Follow the curve of the road to the left and drive past the golf course on your left hand side. You will see a sign for Nixon Creek Campground, keep going. Once you reach a T intersection you will see the start of the logging forestry service road. Take a right. Please turn on your headlights so that you can be seen from both forward and behind. Logging trucks and logging traffic have the right away so if you see one simply turn on your signal light and pull over for them to pass you. Continue driving on the logging road. Every Kilometer there will be a sign that indicates what KM you are at. Just before KM 17 there is the Nixon Creek bridge. You will see a sign that says "Bamfield, Nitinat, Carmanah Walbran" - follow this sign and Stay to your right when you cross over the bridge. We are located just past 18KM mark on the right hand side. You will see a white cross on the tree and see a stop sign. Turn right here. Congratulations you made it here!!!
Note: Although the address says Youbou it is actually on the other side of the lake and at the opposite end of the lake. Interesting fact - at one time the whole of the Lake was considered Youbou. Oddly the address has stuck.
